Requirements / organisational issues

In this course students will learn how to present scientific results to both layman and expert audiences. After this course they will be able to:

  1. organise presentation content as to make it intriguing for an audience;
  2. present science with flair and authenticity using theatre technique, thereby increasing the impact of science communication.

During the course, participants will work on short presentations which they will improve along the way. Regular participation to the Physics Colloquium and critical assessment of the talks via evaluation forms will provide self-reflection. Along with theatre and story, the use of slides, addressing different audiences and reacting to questions are also part of the course. Detailed informations will be available under LMS.

Because the goal is to present research results at a professional level, this course is meant for students, who have a sufficient level in their field, viz. Master students or students at the end of their Bachelor. Students at the beginning of their studies should not enroll for this class.

Anwesenheitspflicht

The course requires regular participation to the Physics Colloquium and to the presentations of the other participants.

Digital teaching

The lectures will be primarily held in presence. All material will be provided in digital form under LMS.
